Laura Martin Laura started dancing at the age of 4 with the Desmond Dominican school of ballet. She later went on to study all styles of dance including tap, jazz, Irish and hip hop with such renowned schools as the Billie Barry Stage School, Freda Bannon and The Helen Jordan Stage School. Since then she has been working as a professional dancer throughout Ireland and has appeared in many shows such as Oliver (Tivoli Theatre and Limerick University) "The Package" and Godspell at the Rupert Guinness Theatre; "A Celebration" (Gaiety) and "Rockinson Crusoe" starring Twink and Dustin (Olympia). Laura spent eight years as a principal dancer/Dance Captain with The Liberty Hall Pantos alongside TV3s Alan Hughes.
In 2006 Laura appeared in the world premiere of the irish musical "Seagulls Dance" in The Draiocht Theatre and also in the national tour of the hit musical "The Full Monty" where she played the part of Joannie. She has also appeared in some of Irelands top cabaret venues including The Red Cow Inn, The RDS, and Burlington Hotel. She choreographed and appeared in the Carlton Christmas Cabaret Show in Dublin 2006 and 2007. Film and TV credits include The DEN, Ireland AM, The Late Late Show, Saturday Night Live where she sang alongside Dana and Westlife, Northanger Abbey (ITV) and as a dancer in Season One of The Tudors.
As a choreographer Laura has worked on such shows as "Annie Get Your Gun", "Oliver!" "Honk," "Billy" and Godspell (SMMS Navan) . In 2008 she choreographed a High School Musical medley which appeared on The Late Late Toy Show. She has also choreographed pantos Cinderella, Red Riding Hood, Jack and the Beanstalk and Aladdin. In 2007 she choreographed the irish premiere of the musical "Thoroughly Modern Millie" where she received the A.I.M.S award for "Best Choreography" and also won the "Best Choreographer Award" in the Waterford Festival of Light Opera. Laura worked for three years as a choreographer for Joe Conlans Temple St hospital Shows which took place in the National Concert Hall and Gaiety Theatre. Here she worked alongside Rebecca Storm, Peter Corry, Simon Delaney, the cast of Fair City and many more tv and radio hosts.
Laura has a vast amount of teaching experience having worked with various stage schools throughout Dublin including The Helen Jordan Stage School for seven years. She has also taught with The City of Dublin VEC.
Damien Douglas
Damiens love for singing and acting first began in school with Beneavin College Musical Society. He later went on to study Drama, Dance and singing at Bull Alley Theatre School where he received a diploma in performance. As an accomplished performer he has starred in many leading roles such as Pish -Tush in The Hot Mikado (Olympia Theatre) , Stephen/Tony - Copacabana (O Reilly Theatre), Cosmo - Singin in the Rain (Theatre Royal Waterford), Jack - Into the Woods (Draiocht theatre), Ko-Ko - The Hot Mikado (Civic Theatre) , Fergus - Seagulls Dance (World premiere Draiocht Theatre), Barnaby - Hello Dolly (National Concert Hall) and Action in West Side Story (The Gaiety Theatre).
As part of the Waterford International Festival Of Light Opera Damien was awarded Best Comedian for his portrayal of Ko-Ko in The Hot Mikado and for Cosmo in Singin In The Rain 2005. He has also received two A.I.M.S awards, Best Actor for the role of Ugly in 'Honk' and Best Comedian for the role of Cosmo in 'Singin In the Rain'. Panto credits include principle roles in Rockin Hood and Puss in Boots starring Twink and Dustin. He also appeared alongside former Miss Ireland Aoife Cogan playing her husband King David in Liberty Halls production of 'Sleeping Beauty'.
Singing credits include lead vocalist in various concerts throughout Ireland such as 'Dunnes Stores 50th Anniversary show' (Cork Opera House), Give My Regards (NCH & RTE Radio), The Dean Martin Tribute (Helix and RTE radio) and The Alleluia Concert (The Point Depot).
Damien spent eight seasons performing with June Rodgers in her summer and christmas cabaret shows. Here he worked with some of Irelands top entertainers such as Tony Kenny, Red Hurley and Sonny Knowles to name but a few. T.v and film credits include: John Player Tops National Final in 1997 With Greenhils Variety group!, The Late Late Show, The Mystics, Northanger Abbey (ITV) and The Tudors season 1 and 2. In the past couple of years Damien has taught for many schools, some of these include Centre Stage School in Dublin and Thurles and The Helen Jordan Stage School. In the past three years Damien has gotten into directing. In 2007 he directed Cinderella for greenhills variety group and Aladdin For Ratoath Musical Society. Other shows include red Riding Hood, Jack and The Beanstalk, A Step In Time Variety Show and this year 2010 The Wedding Singer The Musical and The Hot Mikado
