WHATS IT ALL ABOUT:
Class Act Stage School was set up in Clonmellon Co Westmeath in 2007 by Laura Martin And Damien Douglas. They now have over 100 students with classes in both Clonmellon and Athboy. The classes cater for students from 4-18years who are interested in learning all areas of dance, drama, singing and performance technique. Classes are taught in a professional but fun environment. Not only will the classes help to build confidence, its also a fantastic way to get fit and flexible while meeting lots of new friends!
WHAT WILL IT TEACH YOU?:
AGED 4-7yrs: 1HR CLASS
The younger class is split into 2 half hr classes, a half hr of dance with Laura and a half hr of drama and singing with Damien. Children in our younger classes learn fun and short dance routines and are introduced to basic technique in dance. This will help to improve posture and co-ordination. They will also learn lots of short poems and will enjoy drama games which will help with over all performance and facial expression. Singing will include a fun vocal warm up for kids while learning some of their favourite songs from musicals to Disney to pop!
AGED 8-12YRS AND TEEN CLASSES: 1HR 45 min class
Our Older students take part in two 45minute classes which is divided into a 45min dance class and 45min drama and singing class. Students will start dance class with an energetic warm up to help with flexibility. Included in the warm up is a short across the floor section of jazz ballet. Routines are taught in the style of everything from musical theatre to hip hop to tap. We find doing all styles of dance helps to keep the class fresh and fun. Drama will include everything from script work, voice projection, drama games and improvisations. Singing class involves a short vocal warm up, work on diction and performance of songs, group harmonies and students are also encouraged to sing solo or given the opportunity to try out for solo spots in our shows
